I actually don't think it's that bad; the terminally stupid MAGA is always going to be blind and dumb. They're the same as the Leftisf zombies, every political group in going to have them.
But Trump won because of people like me. People who had enough of Biden, plainly suffering from dementia while Democrats claimed he was in top shape, Kamala Harris and her racial DEI, the entire Lefts denial of obvious biological differences between men and women. And we had 4 pretty solid years of Trump 1.
It turns out Trump 1 was mostly Trump fighting more competent Republicans acting as guardrails, and now Trump is full insanity. This is how MAGA ends. In social media posts obviously contradicting what we can see, claiming Trump is some 4D genuis with long range plans, while meanwhile he just crushes our currency, our trade, our economy.
No one is down for drastically increased prices and inflation for the fantasy of "re-shoring" once they see it is not, and will not, happen. Just the same loud 15/20% of MAGA heads who were saying 5 seconds ago the market doesn't matter, and are now claiming Trump saved the world and had a great plan because the market went up.
Dems not putting unions at the center of everything isn't going to happen, unfortunately. It's not as if they didn't have plenty examples to learn from. I'd wager a lot that if they hadn't snubbed Elon Musk multiple times in preference to the UAW crowd he wouldn't have transitioned to a rabid ultra-right-wing asshat, but if any of them learned something from that I didn't notice.
I could easily join your progress and abundance movement. 'Abundance for all!' is an old communist slogan. I'm an Australian leftist influenced by Marxism, which puts me at great odds with what passes as 'left' today, especially its 'green' 'sustainability' outlook.
The problem, I would argue, is not the 'Left' but its absence, a decline that commenced during the 1970s and after the highpoint for the Left globally in 1968.
Marx waxed lyrical about capitalism and the changes it imposed on Britain and Europe in the mid-C19th but he saw its internal contradictions as leading to the system of social relations of production becoming a brake on rapid development, growth and indeed abundance.
Those who still have faith in capitalism will, of course, disagree but the fact is that Marxists didn't oppose capitalism because it was too productive but because it hinders the unleashing of the productive forces.
Live in Houston but would drive in to meet you April 17th!

Dunno if he has the charisma to pull it off but Colorado governor Jared Polis has my vote.
Charismatic abundance Democrats: I'm interested in seeing whether Rahm Emmanuel gets traction.
I’d love to meet up. I build in the PK12 education space. m.s.bateman@gmail.com
